reduction in parents' feelings of isolation through emotional support from social workers

psychosoziales Befinden

Social workers are described as fundamental relational resources by the youth families, providing emotional support and aid during challenging moments. Through the presence of social workers, parents feel less isolated and find a point of reference in case of need. Some mothers, for example, affirm that they talk to the tutors about their family difficulties and that the tutors acted as a valid area of support to vent their emotions. The support received by the social workers is reported as a source of refreshment and benefit for them. "I also took benefit from them (she is referring to the NGO’s social workers), because sometimes the types of problems that mothers face, you don’t know with whom to talk, how to get out of it, I found in them someone who I could trust, they gave me a lot." Beschreibung der Aktivität

Jugendsozialarbeit
sports-based program implemented by an Italian NGO in Milan, Rome and Naples
The program intends to promote social inclusion through sport for youth living in conditions of socio-economic vulnerability. Tutors and local coordinators involve a territorial network of social actors (schools, parishes, social services, and communities) to reach youth. Together with the youth and their family the local coordinator finds a sport society suitable for the youth. The tutor is involved during the phase of integration into the sport society and accompanies the youth throughout the entire sport process.
